The organisers of tomorrow's Make Poverty History rally in Dublin have said the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, is welcome to attend but only if he is delivering a credible plan on overseas aid.
Announcing details of the rally in Dublin the campaign leaders said: 'We cannot afford any more warm words or broken promises.'
The Irish campaign is calling on the Government to deliver a credible plan on overseas aid, including setting a new deadline of no later than 2010 for increasing spending on aid to 0.7% of Gross National Product.
It is also calling for a year-by-year plan and for legislation to be published for the automatic allocation of 0.7% of GNP.
The organisers are hoping that several thousand people will turn out for the march, which starts at Parnell Square at 6.30pm tomorrow evening, and will move through the city to Merrion Square.
Once there the crowd will be addressed by a number of speakers and will be entertained by bands including Hothouse Flowers, The Walls, Kila and Mundy.
The rally is part of a series of events over the coming days in the Make Poverty History campaign.
