Gardaí investigating the murder of a young man in Dublin this morning have issued a detailed description of the attacker.
The victim, a 23-year-old Chinese national, was stabbed in the chest after he confronted a burglar at his house in Reuben Avenue in Rialto in the early hours of this morning.
The attacker is described as between 22 and 25 years of age, 5’9’’ in height, with dark hair and a blonde fringe. He was wearing a blue jacket and blue jeans. Gardaí have appealed to anyone with information to come forward.
The victim had been living in Ireland for the past two and a half years. He worked as a kitchen porter and was staying in the house on Reuben Avenue with six other Chinese nationals.
At around 5am this morning he was disturbed by a noise and found the two-storey terraced house was being burgled.
He was stabbed in the chest by a man who was coming out of a bedroom with a jewellery box.
The victim was taken to St James's Hospital but pronounced dead there.
The scene has been preserved for technical examination and a post mortem examination will take place later today.
