The threat of disruption to rail services to and from Cork and Kerry due to a planned rail workers strike from midnight has been averted.
Around 170 rail workers at Cork and Mallow stations have decided to defer their strike following an intervention from the Labour Relations Commission.
This lunchtime, an invitation to talks was issued by Tom Pomphrett of the LRC, and both sides have accepted.
These talks are to take place in Cork tomorrow morning.
Iarnród Éireann say all services will now operate normally.
The row follows a refusal by Iarnród Éireann to reinstate a ticket collector who won his case for unfair dismissal.
