Gardaí in Limerick have arrested ten people as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of Brian Fitzgerald in 2002.
The six men and four women were arrested at various locations in Limerick in the early hours of this morning.
They are being held for questioning at garda stations in Limerick city and at Newcastlewest and Bruff in Co Limerick.
The ten, who are being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, can be questioned for up to 72 hours.
The investigation into Mr Fitzgerald's murder has intensified in recent weeks.
It follows the arrest a number of weeks ago of another man who was arrested by gardaí and questioned in Portlaoise but was released without charge.
Mr Fitzgerald was shot outside his home in Corbally on 29 November 2002 after returning home in the early hours of the morning from his work as a bouncer at a Limerick nightclub.
