George Redmond is due to stand trial in the Circuit Criminal Court on corruption charges next December.
Today the court fixed 5 December for the former Dublin City and County Manager's trial on corruption charges relating to land at Buzzardstown in Co Dublin.
The court heard that Mr Redmond, 81, is in poor health.
The defence indicated that prior to the start of the trial it would be making an application to the court in relation to that trial.
Last year the Court of Criminal Appeal quashed Mr Redmond's conviction on separate corruption charges.
