Dundalk - Renewed appeal for witnesses
Dundalk - Renewed appeal for witnesses

Gardaí in Co Louth have begun a murder investigation after what they describe as the vicious killing of a mother of three in Dundalk.

A post mortem examination carried out by the State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy, last night has concluded that Irene White died of multiple stab wounds.

The body of Mrs White, who was 43, was found on the kitchen floor of her home at Demesne Street by her 70-year-old mother yesterday.

There was no sign of a struggle or a break-in at the house. Mrs White was last seen dropping her three children aged 17, six and four to school that morning.

Gardaí have renewed an appeal for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the streets around Ice House Hill between 8.30am and 12.30pm yesterday to come forward and contact them.
