New figures suggest that more than ten tourists a week were victims of crime in Ireland last year.
The research, compiled by the Tourist Victim Support Service, indicated that theft was the most prominent crime against visitors.
In all 560 tourists were victims of crime in 2004.
Despite the high number of incidents the service says Dublin city is not a particularly dangerous place.
