The President of the European Parliament, Josep Borrell, is holding talks with senior MEPs tomorrow in a bid to break the wall of silence surrounding the murder of Belfast man Robert McCartney.
The move was announced after Mr Borrell met three of Mr McCartney's campaigning sisters in Brussels this afternoon.
The sisters are also planning meetings with several groups in the European Parliament, one of which includes Sinn Féin's two MEPs, Bairbre de Brún and Mary Lou McDonald.
Paula McCartney told reporters they would be asking MEPs to support their campaign.
She said the family wanted them to ask Sinn Féin certain questions, such as why, if they were democratically elected politicians, its members were not coming forward to help the murder investigation.
Mr McCartney, a 33-year-old father-of-two, was stabbed to death outside a Belfast bar on 30 January.
The IRA later admitted that three of its members were involved in the attack.
