A United Nations report on the assassination of the former Lebanese Prime Minister, Rafiq Hariri, has called for an independent international commission to carry out a wider investigation.
The report was compiled by a fact-finding team led by one of the Garda Deputy Commissioners, Peter Fitzgerald.
It did not specify who was behind the killing last month, but it concluded that the Lebanese security services and Syrian military intelligence were primarily responsible for the lack of security in Lebanon.
Syria has dismissed the findings.
The US has backed the findings of the report and has also renewed its call for the withdrawal of Syrian forces from Lebanon.
