A petrol bomb caused minor scorch damage to a house in the loyalist White City estate in north Belfast.
The petrol bomb was thrown at the back of the house off the Whitewell road shortly after midnight.
Afterwards rival crowds totalling around 40 people from the loyalist area and an adjoining nationalist area gathered and tensions were raised.
However, police and community representatives managed to restore calm.
Yesterday, windows were broken at a house in the same area.
