The Reverend Dr Alan McCormack has been appointed as the new chair of RTÉ’s Audience Council.
The Church of Ireland priest, who is also the Chaplain of Trinity College Dublin, has been a member of the council since it was established in 2003.
Dr McCormack, a native of Belfast, is also the secretary of the Church of Ireland’s Broadcasting Committee and is a member of the London-based Churches’ Media Council.
The previous chair of the council, Derek Cunningham, completed his one-year term of office last December.
