The Chinese embassy in Baghdad says it has found eight Chinese hostages who were freed yesterday by Iraqi insurgents.
The embassy said they were safe and well.
The Chinese government had said that the men, who were taken hostage last Tuesday, were construction workers returning home after failing to find work in Iraq.
