The search for 11-year-old Robert Holohan has been called off this evening and will resume at 8am tomorrow.
It is estimated that over 1,000 people took part in the search for Robert who has been missing from his home near Midleton in Co Cork for two days.
Throughout the day volunteers joined gardaí, army and civil defence teams on the search. So far no trace of the boy has been found.
Soldiers from Collins Barracks in Cork, a sub-aqua unit and dog teams were also involved in the search.
Meanwhile, gardaí have appealed for information from anyone who used the East Cork Golf Club near Midleton or its driving range on Tuesday evening.
They are attempting to dismiss from their inquiries reported sightings of several cars in the vicinity at the time.
Robert left his home near Midleton at around 2.30pm on Tuesday afternoon. His BMX bicycle was found about half a mile away some three hours later.
