House searches complete in North heist

Detectives in Northern Ireland investigating the £22 million Northern Bank heist in Belfast last week have completed their searches of the homes of the two bank officials.

The two families had to spend Christmas away from their homes.
A PSNI spokeswoman said this afternoon these two areas which were being preserved as crime scenes had now been closed.

The houses in Poleglass near Lisburn and at Loughinsland in south Down will now be cleaned before being returned to their owners.

The spokeswoman said a comprehensive examination and search had been carried out, and she emphasised this was normal police procedure in a case of this nature.
