Racism in the workplace is a growing cause for concern, according to the Equality Authority, which says the number of complaints in this area is rising.
Throughout last month, race-related complaints accounted for almost half of cases dealt with by the authority under the Equal Employment Act.
Mr Niall Crowley, the Chief Executive of Equality Authority, said that such cases have replaced gender as the number one concern.
The Equality Authority heard complaints from migrant workers about working conditions, unequal pay, harassment and unfair dismissal.
