Man in custody over Co Meath death

A man remains in custody this evening following the death of a mother-of-six in Dunshaughlin in Co Meath.

The woman has been named as Colleen Mulder, 41, originally from Bangor in Co Down.

A post mortem is being held to establish the cause of death, although gardaí say they are still treating it as suspicious.

The man who is being questioned has had his period of detention extended.

He must be charged or released by tomorrow morning.

The woman's body was found in a house in Dunshaughlin this morning. Gardaí sealed off the area pending a technical examination.

Officers were called at 11am after a doctor had examined the woman's body, which was found in a bed. A man and children were also in the house at the time.

The State Pathologist was also called to the scene.
