An English journalist has lost a High Court bid to stop a civil action by relatives of murder victim Sophie Toscan du Plantier.
Ian Bailey of Schull, Co Cork, who was not in court, said that the dead woman's relatives had not furnished details of their allegations that he beat Ms Toscan du Plantier to death in December 1996.
Mr Justice Michael Hanna dismissed the action after hearing that documents had been provided, but awarded Mr Bailey costs because of the delay.
Mr Bailey was arrested twice for questioning about the killing but has always denied involvement.
