Gardaí are questioning a man in Cork in connection with the murder of a 24-year-old man in Caledon, Co Tyrone last month.
Noel Williamson, who was from Caledon, was battered to death on 13 October. One man has already been charged by police in Northern Ireland in relation to Mr Williamson's death.
Gardaí, who are co-operating with PSNI detectives investigating the murder, arrested a 24-year old Kerry man at Cork Prison earlier today.
The man was in custody in the prison awaiting sentence on another crime.
Detectives from Monaghan and detectives from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation are questioning the man at Mayfield Garda Station in Cork City. He can be held for up to 12 hours.
