The Book of Evidence has been returned in the case of a man charged with dangerous driving causing the deaths of four people in a road traffic accident outside Cahir in Co Tipperary earlier this year.
Michael McGrath of Hacketstown, Co Carlow, is charged with dangerous driving causing the deaths of Mary Downes, her mother Mary Dalton, her sister Kathleen Quish, and her four year old son, Robert.
The family members were on their way to Dublin Zoo for a treat for Robert and his seven-year-old brother, when the accident happened on the main Cork to Dublin road at Kilcoran Lodge last January.
Mr McGrath appeared at Cahir district court this morning where the Book of Evidence was served and the case was returned for trial to the next sitting of Clonmel Circuit Criminal court.
An application was made for free legal aid and Mr McGrath was released on his own bail bond of €1,000.
