Jail term extended for Belfast murderer

A man from Belfast who killed his ex-girlfriend by stabbing her 75 times has had his jail term extended from ten to 15 years after a court ruled his sentence was too lenient.

The case was referred to the Court of Appeal following a campaign by the victim's family and local politicians.

Conor Gerard Doyle is 23 and from Limestone Road in the city.

He murdered 21-year-old Angela Snoddy at her home in Whiteabbey in October 2002.
