The Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources, Dermot Ahern, has started the RTÉ Licence Fee Adjustment Review process.
Minster Ahern said, 'As part of our Programme of Public Sector Broadcasting Reform, the Government decided that the RTÉ licence would be reviewed annually. The licence fee can fall or rise, up to the rate of inflation'.
Any changes to the licence fee will depend upon RTÉ's ability to implement structural reform and meet its programming commitments as set out in its statement of commitments and the RTÉ Charter.
