Shot fired during raid on van at airport

Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery on a security van near Dublin Airport during which a shot was fired.

A garda spokesman said the incident happened at 10.40am at a petrol filling station on the grounds of the airport when two armed men held up the staff of a security van.

Gardaí say one shot was fired but there were no injuries.

The raiders made their escape with an undisclosed amount of cash in the direction of Swords.
