Life sentence for UK youth following stabbing

A 16-year-old boy in England has been detained for life for stabbing a fellow pupil in a school corridor.

Alan Pennell was named after a judge in Lincolnshire lifted a media ban. He will serve a minimum of 12 years.

Luke Walmsley, who was 14, was stabbed through the heart in a corridor at Birkbeck College in North Somercotes, Lincolnshire, last November.

Pennell was described in court as having a history of violent behaviour.
