One of the country's main cash in transit security companies has introduced new vans and new security measures to deal with the increasing number of armed robberies.
Brinks Allied said there had been as many raids on its vans in the first half of this year as in all of last year.
One of its competitors has been attacked 21 times this year.
The company says it is seriously concerned about the increase in attacks and will also ensure that all cash is dyed in the event of an attack.
