Iran has dismissed allegations in an American Congressional report about links between Tehran and al-Qaeda.
A spokesperson for the Iranian foreign ministry said suspicions were totally unfounded and described them as simply part of the American presidential campaign.
The spokesperson said there were serious ideological differences between Iran and al-Qaeda, which made any linkages impossible.
Iran agent acquitted of killing journalist
The family of an Iranian-born Canadian photojournalist killed in custody in Tehran have said they are not surprised at the acquittal of an Iranian agent charged with her killing.
Zahra Kazemi's son, Stephan Hachemi says the trial was a 'cover-up' to divert attention from the real killer, who he believes, was a more senior official.
He and his supporters are urging Canada to bring Iran before the international court. Canada has already withdrawn its ambassador to the country in protest.
