Michael Kelly from Limerick who was injured in a shooting incident recently died in Limerick Regional Hospital tonight.
Mr Kelly was found with a bullet wound to the head in a bedroom of his mother's house in Southill over four weeks ago.
A garda investigation into the shooting is still ongoing.
It is understood Mr Kelly's condition deteriorated during the day and he was moved to the intensive care unit. He died at about 11.15pm.
