The Minister of State for Housing, Noel Ahern, has announced that €773m is to be made available to housing authorities for local authority housing this year.
Of this, €706m will be spent on local authority housing.
There is a provision of €40m for the accommodation of members of the Travelling Community.
€27m in funding is to be made available for remedial work to local authority dwellings.
