Verdict due for Irish men in Colombia

According to a number of sources in Bogota, the verdict in the case of three Irishmen, charged with travelling on false passports and training FARC rebels, will be delivered on Friday or next Monday.

The trial of Niall Connolly, Martin MacAuley and James Monaghan ended in Bogota over eight months ago.

It is understood the verdict in the case will be communicated in writing to the men and their lawyers.

The three accused have been held in prison since they were arrested over two and half years ago.
