Bosnian Serb gets 17 years for warcrimes

Judges at the Hague tribunal have sentenced a former Bosnian Serb policeman to 17 years for his involvement in the massacre of more than 200 non-Serb men in Bosnia in 1992.

Last year, Darko Mrdja confessed at the United Nations war crimes tribunal to taking part in shootings by a special Bosnian Serb police unit.

At least 228 prisoners were shot on Mount Vlasic in central Bosnia.
