One of the world's leading drinks companies, Coca-Cola, has withdrawn a range of bottled water from sale in the UK in what is being seen as a major public relations disaster.

The product, Dasani, was found to contain more than the legal level of bromate - a chemical linked to cancer.

Coca-Cola had already faced opposition to its product, introduced a month ago, when it was revealed that the water originated from local tap supplies.

Commentators have suggested that it will be impossible for the company to relaunch the product.
