The President and Vice President of Taiwan have left hospital after being treated for injuries they received while campaigning in the south of the country.
It is reported that President Chen Shui-bian was wounded in the stomach by a bullet which first hit the knee of his Vice President, Annette Lu, in the city of Tainan.
The 53-year-old president was given 14 stitches, but neither injury was described as serious.
The pair has flown back to the capital Taipei, and tomorrow's presidential poll is going ahead.
