The High Court in Belfast has granted leave to apply for a judicial review to the wife of the murdered Belfast solicitor, Pat Finucane.
She is seeking disclosure of a report on the killing by the Canadian judge, Peter Cory.
In court, the British government was accused of adding to the grief of the Finucane family by delaying publication of the report into alleged collusion between loyalist paramilitaries and the security forces.
It comes after Judge Cory recommended separate public inquiries into four controversial murders in the North.
