Gardaí have declared safe an American passenger jet that was diverted to Shannon Airport, because of a bomb threat.
Gardaí and Army bomb disposal experts searched the Delta Airlines aircraft and its luggage in an operation that lasted several hours. Nothing suspicious was found.
The alert began on the jet when a note was found in a toilet claiming that a bomb was on board.
The Delta jet was en route from Germany to the US with 147 passengers and crew on board. Gardaí also questioned the passengers.
The passengers and crew are staying in local hotels overnight. It is expected the flight will take off again at lunchtime tomorrow.
