Carr applies for early prison release

The Home Office in London has announced that Maxine Carr has applied for early release from prison.

The former fiancée of the convicted Soham schoolgirls' murderer, Ian Huntley, is now eligible for electronic tagging.

The 26-year-old has completed half of her three-and-a-half year sentence for perverting the course of justice, having served time in custody before the trial which ended last month.
