China has said it has still not confirmed whether or not there has been an outbreak of the SARS virus in the south of the country.
The Centre for Disease Control in Guangdong Province had earlier said the case had been confirmed as SARS, but this was later denied by China's health ministry.
The affected person is a 32-year-old television producer, who is now in hospital in the provincial capital, Guangzhou, where the disease first emerged last year.
