Two men have appeared before Limerick District Court today in connection with an aggravated burglary at the home of a solicitor in the city yesterday evening.
Gardaí say two raiders entered the solicitor's house at Rhebogue at around 6.30pm and tied up and assaulted the owner.
Following a call, gardaí arrived on the scene and one of the officers was attacked with a baseball bat and had to be treated in hospital for facial injuries.
John Jennings (34) and Martin Jennings (36) appeared before Limerick District Court where they were charged with aggravated burglary at 49 Rhebogue Meadows, Limerick.
They were also charged with the false imprisonment of solicitor Glen Cooper on the same date.
