A former hospital consultant has emphatically denied indecently assaulting a number of teenage male patients in the 1970s and 1980s.
Michael Shine, 72, of Wellington Road in Dublin, is facing a total of 11 charges of indecently assaulting six young men in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, and at his private practice in the town.
At Dundalk Circuit Criminal Court today, Mr Shine said he did not remember several of the complainants but he was absolutely sure he did not assault them or mistreat them in anyway.
The trial has been adjourned and will resume on Tuesday morning. The hearing ended early this afternoon due to the illness of a juror.
