Swedish murder suspect facing DNA tests

Police in Sweden are carrying out DNA tests on a man suspected of murdering the country's foreign minister, Anna Lindh.

Ms Lindh was stabbed in a department store in Stockholm last week.

The suspect was detained outside a football stadium last night, in a suburb of the capital.

A police spokeswoman said the man is not unlike the man captured on film by surveillance cameras in the department store where the knife attack took place.

Swedish media organisations claim the arrested man is a 35-year-old known criminal with a record including fraud and minor violent crimes.
