Swedish police say they have arrested the man suspected of the murder last week of Foreign Minister Anna Lindh.
A police spokesman said the suspect had been arrested near Stockholm.
Ms Lindh had been a popular politician and had campaigned in favour of a 'Yes' vote in Sunday's referendum on whether Sweden should join the eurozone.
However, a majority of Swedes voted 'No' in the referendum.
