Three people were killed and 33 injured in a gas explosion at an apartment building in the southern Spanish city of Seville this morning.
Police say the blast may have been deliberately set off by an elderly, ill-intentioned neighbour.
Early findings of the investigation suggest that a 72 year-old man, who died in the blast along with a couple aged in their 50s, may have caused the explosion by using a canister of butane gas and a flammable liquid.
The blast shattered the second floor of a four-storey block in the Las Letanias district of Seville, causing the two top floors to collapse.
Several injured residents had to be dug out from the rubble by rescue workers, police told the AFP news agency.
Neighbours told journalists that the 72 year-old suspect had poor relations with the other residents and used to threaten them.
