Talks on Lockerbie bombing compensation

US Secretary of State Colin Powell has said Libya appears ready to admit responsibility and pay compensation for the 1988 Lockerbie bombing.

259 people on board Pan Am Flight 103 and 11 people on the ground in the Scottish town were killed.

British, US and Libyan officials have been meeting in London to discuss details of the proposed deal.

Further talks are expected later this week.
