Michael McKevitt, the alleged Real IRA leader who sacked his legal team yesterday, has refused to attend his trial at the Special Criminal Court.
Gardaí tried to bring him into the court from the basement cell, but he resisted.
The judge said the Gardaí must not use force, and the trial continued in his absence.
