Gardaí and politicians in Limerick have appealed for calm following last night's fatal shooting in the city.
Two men who were being questioned by Gardaí in Limerick following the shooting have been released without charge.
They were arrested last night and held at Mayorstone Garda Station.
John Ryan, who was in his 40s, was killed as he carried out work on a patio at a house in the Thomondgate area.
He was shot by the pillion passenger on a motorbike.
The victim was the uncle of Edward and Kieran Ryan, two young men who were abducted in the city last January.
Earlier, the Garda officer leading the investigation into the murder has appealed to those involved in the city's murderous feud to stand back from the brink.
Supt Willie Keane said over forty Gardaí were investigating the murder, two people were in custody and he said people should let the Gardaí deal with the matter.
However, in Moyross the Ryan family were in no mood for conciliation.
John's nephew John McCarthy, whose house was shot at by two men with a Kalashnikov, said he did not believe his uncle's killing would be the last.
