Bray murder victim confirmed as Chinese

Gardaí have confirmed that that the woman who was found dead in Woodbrook Glen, Bray, this morning was a 21-year-old Chinese national.

They believe she had been living in Bray for some time and was studying English at a college in Dublin.

Preliminary examination indicates that the woman was stabbed several times, but gardaí believe no sexual assault took place. A murder is investigation is under way.

The woman's body was found around 7.45am by a passer-by near housing estates in the town.

She was found lying in a walkway between two estates at Woodbrook Glen. Her personal belongings were strewn on the ground near the body.

Gardaí are working with the Chinese embassy to try to contact the woman's family.
