Hamiltons' accuser jailed for 3 years

A woman who falsely accused former Tory MP Neil Hamilton and his wife Christine of rape has been jailed for three years by a court in London.

29-year-old Nadine Milroy-Sloan from Grimsby in north Lincolnshire, was found guilty of two counts of perverting the course of justice by a jury at the Old Bailey last month.

The Hamiltons were arrested in 2001 after Milroy-Sloan, who has four children, told police she had been raped by them, and by 62-year-old Barry Lehaney, at a flat in Essex.

The Hamiltons were cleared of any involvement, as was Mr Lehaney.
