A new hostel for women and children who have been abused has been opened in Longford Town.
The facility can accommodate 21 people or up to five families and will compliment an existing hostel for men.
The centre, which cost €700,000, was built with funding from the Government, Longford County Council, the Midlands health board and voluntary fundraisers.
