The US has re-designated the Real IRA a foreign terrorist organisation, renewing financial and travel restrictions on the group's members.
The move prevents the expiration of an earlier designation, which was adopted two years ago.
The sanctions make it illegal for people in the United States to give money to the paramilitary group.
