Moroccan charged in connection with US attacks

German prosecutors have charged a Moroccan student with being an accessory to the murder of more than 3,000 people.

The charges relate to his alleged involvement in planning the 11 September attacks in the US.

Thirty-year-old Abdelghani Mzoudi is believed to have been linked to the so-called al-Qaeda cell in the northern city of Hamburg that produced three of the 19 suicide hijackers, including presumed ringleader Mohammed Atta.

Mzoudi was previously charged with supporting a terrorist organisation.
