The President of the Law Society has described delays in bringing family law cases to court as outrageous.
She also said that many courthouses around the country were in a woefully delapidated condition.
The President, Geraldine Clarke, said it was simply outrageous that in some parts of the country family law cases took up to 24 months before they were heard and even then they were often heard in courthouses which were totally unsuitable.
Ms Clarke was addressing a Law Society council meeting at Sligo Courthouse.
