Counsel for a man held in prison in connection with the abduction of Kieran Keane have requested that he be moved on safety grounds.
20-year-old Dessie Dundon is being held in Wheatfield Prison, accused of falsely imprisoning the Limerick man who was found dead outside the village of Drombanna at the end of January. He is also accused of falsely imprisoning Mr Keane's nephew, Owen Treacy.
Today, Mr Dundon's solicitor told the Limerick District Court that an attempt had been made on his client's life, and requested he be remanded to Limerick Prison.
But the court remanded him to Wheatfield Prison. His co-accused, 21-year-old Anthony McCarthy, who faces a similar charge, was remanded to Cloverhill Prison.
